Will I need receipts for everything that is damaged from a flood in my house?

To the extent that you have receipts, they’re going to be very helpful in proving whatever property was damaged was in your possession prior to the loss. However, if you don’t have those receipts, there may be other ways to provide documentation to the insurance company and prove your damages.
