What should I avoid saying when talking to the insurance company about damages to my home?

Your policy of insurance contains a provision in it which does require you to cooperate with the insurance company with regards to their investigation of your claim. However, that doesn’t give an insurance company free range to ask you any and all questions that they deem relevant. If an insurance company and its representatives start to ask you questions that don’t seem to be related to the claim or are making you uncomfortable, it’s best to contact a professional to determine what rights you have in responding to the insurance company’s questions.
