What if I can’t get a receipt for an item that was stolen. Will the insurance company pay me back for it?

The insurance company should be obligated to pay you back for a stolen item, generally, depending on the terms of your policy. If you don’t have a receipt, the first thing you should do is go research the cost of the item and present whatever evidence you have, through pictures or otherwise, to the insurance company to establish that you own the item.
