What happens if my toilet overflows and damages my home?

Return to FAQ Videos

If your toilet overflows and damages your home, the first thing that you might want to consider doing is actually shutting off the supply to the water to make sure that you don’t have a continued overflow and causing additional damages. Also, depending on the color that the water was, you may want to contact a mitigation company that can come out and properly dry your home and remove any harmful contaminants that may have affected and damaged your home. Also, you want to contact your insurance company and report the claim so you can put them on notice of the damages that your house sustained.
