Does my policy cover damage caused by natural disasters such as hurricanes and tornadoes?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

What is covered under your policy when it comes to natural disasters is very much going to depend on your policy itself. If you have a [named pero 00:00:12] policy, one or more types of natural disasters may not be covered. If you have an all risk policy, generally, all damage to your home is going to be covered unless it’s excluded. Certain types of natural disasters, such as wind storm, may often be excluded from coverage in a policy of homeowner’s insurance in the state of Florida. In order to determine what sort of coverage you have for natural disasters, you’ll need to specifically review your policy and any endorsements to your policy with your agent or with a professional such as a public adjuster or an attorney.
