Can I afford an attorney if I have to sue my insurance company?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

If you have to sue your insurance company, you will certainly be able to afford an attorney. Generally, in Florida, attorneys will handle claims on what is known as a contingent fee basis, which means the insurance company is paid either from a settlement, or by the insurance company if there is a recovery. In addition, there is a statute, or a law, in Florida, that obligates the insurance company to pay for the attorney’s fees, the homeowner’s attorney’s fees, if there is a lawsuit and a recovery under the policy.
